I'm Leigh ~ Thank you for finding your way to my site. I've been creating these beings from clay since I was about 13 years old. To me they have a living presence and hold unique qualities. They've always seemed to be saying something of importance. I work with intention asking the clay what wants to be created and what messages want to be spoken through each piece. For me they have been my guides of inspiration that bring me closer to my authentic self and move my creative beauty out into the world.
A word about transitions. Some transitions in life are exciting and joyful while other transitions work us and rock us to our core. Many cultures around the world mark these transitions beautifully in their communities with ceremony and ritual. Rites of passage ceremonies mark a moment in time and give us a sense of belonging. They can allow for deeper meaning and purpose and a better understanding of who we are, where we come from and where we are going. In my way, marking these gateways with a personalized piece with a voice assists the movement forward with honor, gratitude and love. Each piece is created with these three elements and they are my offering to you.
